CLEVELAND (AP) — Shortly after doing a face-down snow angel, firing a few celebratory snowballs and singing “Jingle Bells” on his way to the media room, Jameis Winston ended his postgame news conference with a simple question. “Am I a Brown yet?” he asked. He is now. And who knows? Maybe for a lot longer than expected. Winston entered Cleveland football folklore on Thursday night by leading the Browns to a 24-19 win over the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers, who had their five-game winning streak stopped. Winston’s performance at Huntington Bank Field, which transformed into the world’s largest snow globe, not only made him an instantaneous hero in the eyes of Browns fans but added another wrinkle to the team’s ever-changing, never-ending quarterback conundrum. In his fourth start since Deshaun Watson’s season-ending Achilles tendon injury, Winston made enough big plays to help the Browns (3-8) get a victory that should quiet conjecture about coach Kevin Stefanski’s job. Some wins mean more than others. In Cleveland, beating the Steelers is as big as it gets. But beyond any instant gratification, Winston has given the Browns more to consider as they move forward. Watson’s future with Cleveland is highly uncertain since it will still be months before the team has a grip on whether he’s even an option in 2025, his fourth year since signing a $230 million, fully guaranteed contract that has proven calamitous. It’s also possible the Browns will cut ties with Watson. They signed Winston to a one-year contract to be Watson’s backup. But the unexpected events of 2024 have changed plans and led to the possibility that the 30-year-old Winston could become Cleveland’s full-time QB or a bridge to their next young one. So much is unclear. What’s not is that Winston, who leaped into the end zone on fourth-and-2 for a TD to put the Browns ahead 18-6 in the fourth quarter, is a difference maker. With his larger-than-life personality and the joy he shows whether practicing or throwing three touchdown passes, he has lifted the Browns. A man of faith, he’s made his teammates believe. Winston has done what Watson couldn’t: made the Browns better. “A very, very authentic person,” Stefanski said Friday on a Zoom call. “He’s the same guy every single day. He’s the same guy at 5 a.m. as he at 5 p.m. He brings great energy to everything he does, and I think his teammates appreciate that about him.” Winston, who is 2-2 as a starter with wins over the Steelers and Baltimore Ravens, has a knack for inspiring through fiery, preacher-like pregame speeches. But what has impressed the Browns is his ability to stay calm in the storm. “He doesn’t get rattled,” said Myles Garrett, who had three sacks against the Steelers. “He’s just tuned in and focused as anyone I’ve seen at that position. Turn the page. There was a turnover, came back to the sideline, ‘Love you. I’m sorry. We’re going to get it back.’ He was already on to the next one, ‘How can we complete the mission?’ “I have a lot of respect for him. First was from afar and now seeing it on the field in front of me, it’s a blessing to have someone who plays a game with such a passion and want-to. You can’t ask for a better teammate when they take those things to heart and they want to play for you like we’re actually brothers and that’s what we have to attain. That brotherhood.” What’s working Winston has done something else Watson couldn’t: move the offense. The Browns scored more than 20 points for just the second time this season, and like Joe Flacco a year ago, Winston has shown that Stefanski’s system works with a quarterback patient enough to let plays develop and unafraid to take shots downfield. What needs help The conditions certainly were a factor, but the Browns were a miserable 1 of 10 on third down, a season-long trend. However, Cleveland converted all four fourth-down tries, including a fourth-and-3 pass from Winston to Jerry Jeudy with 2:36 left that helped set up Nick Chubb’s go-ahead TD run. Stock up RT Jack Conklin. Garrett outplayed Steelers star T.J. Watt in their rivalry within the rivalry partly because Conklin did a nice job containing Pittsburgh’s edge rusher, who was held without a sack and had one tackle for loss. Conklin has made a remarkable comeback since undergoing reconstructive knee surgery last year. Stock down Owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam. Their desire to build a dome is well intended, but an indoor game could never come close to matching the surreal setting of Thursday night, when snow swirled throughout the stadium and covered nearly all the yard lines and hash marks. “It was beautiful,” Winston said. Injuries WR Cedric Tillman is in the concussion protocol. He had two catches before taking a big hit on the final play of the third quarter. Iowa QB Cade McNamara slams 'ridiculous' rumors

Energy is on the Toronto Stock Exchange, and many constituents are highly profitable. Oil and gas stocks dominated the TSX30 List in 2023 and 2024, the flagship program for Canada’s top growth stocks. However, if you’re investing in the sector, ( ) is the ultimate energy stock to buy right now. At only $6.50 per share, current investors enjoy a 128.9% year-to-date gain. A on December 29, 2023, is worth $2,288.33 today. This small-cap stock is a winner, given its 1,344.4% overall return in three years. I won’t be surprised if VLE makes it to the 2025 TSX30 List. Valeura Energy is an oil and natural gas producer with headquarters in Singapore. Its material-operated oil-producing assets are in the offshore Gulf of Thailand. The $695.5 million Canadian company also operates in the Thrace basin, onshore in north-west Turkey. According to management, Valeura started as a small Turkish gas explorer and producer and is now Thailand’s second-largest oil producer. Its successful exploration and appraisal activities assure longer production life. The company also commits to pursuing organic and inorganic growth to enhance shareholder value. In Q3 2024, net loss reached US$3.9 million compared to the US$11.3 million in net earnings in Q3 2023. The loss was due to lower oil sales and the payment of US$30 million in petroleum taxes following the consolidation of the Thai assets into a single subsidiary. It was a milestone and necessary business decision. Dr. Sean Guest, Valeura’s President and CEO, said, “All steps are now completed for us to pool our forward costs and apply our substantial tax loss carry-forwards to the combined income generated from the Nong Yao, Manora, and Wassana fields from November 1, 2024 on. We have achieved record production rates in both September and October.” Besides immediately increasing the company’s cash flow generation, Dr. Guest added that it would further enhance the ability to extend the fields’ producing life. Management expects strong Q4 2024 financial performance because of higher production and unusually high crude oil in inventory at the end of Q3. Valeura had no active operations in Turkey during Q3 2024 as it searches for a farm-in partner to help move to the next phase of work. The company has between a 63% to 100% interest in the deep gas play. It will apply for an extension of the exploration license expiring on June 27, 2025. Valeura Energy has zero debt after fully repaying all outstanding loan obligations in Q3 2023. As of September 30, 2024, the available cash is US$156 million. Dr. Guest further said the company is well-positioned to continue pursuing value through portfolio growth and accretive acquisitions. More importantly, the Gulf of Thailand is a competitive advantage. Valeura Energy can maintain and considerably improve the reserve life index because the continued development of existing fields continues to replace production historically. This energy stock is a “strong buy” for its strong balance sheet and expected cash flows in the near term.Omnicom Group has agreed to buy Interpublic Group in a deal, valued at $US13.3 billion ($20.6 billion) excluding debt, that will create the world’s largest advertising company, The Australian Financial Review’s Fareed Sahloul and Mark Bergen report. A Nevada court ruled resoundingly against Mr Murdoch, 93, rejecting his efforts to preserve his media empire’s conservative editorial position. Murdoch and his lawyers had argued that it would be better for the entire family if Lachlan, now the chairman of News Corporation and the executive chairman of Fox Corporation, oversaw the business. Having put the business up for sale publicly in August, News Corp is in late-stage negotiations with DAZN, a sports streaming business backed by British-Ukrainian billionaire Len Blavatnik. DAZN, which broadcasts the NFL, MMA and UEFA Women’s Champions League in Australia, emerged as the likely buyer for Foxtel after talks broke down between News Corp and US private equity firm Platinum earlier this year over the former’s unrealistic asking price. The deal to sell Foxtel for an undisclosed sum could be completed before Christmas, three sources with knowledge of the deal said. Foxtel’s debt load is about $1.2 billion. But an unexpected – and fairly significant – snub among the team who brought it from stage to screen has certainly raised some eyebrows. Wicked is up for four awards, including for its stars, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. It’s also nominated for Best Picture and in the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement categories – making it all the more surprising that the film’s director, Jon M. Chu, didn’t make the cut himself. The full list of nominations was announced by Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut on Monday morning, LA time, with drug cartel musical Emilia Pérez leading the entire pack with an impressive 10 nominations. Though president-elect Donald Trump came out against shutting down the app on the campaign trail, experts expressed doubts in his ability to halt a ban, The Australian’s Connor Smith reports. Trump could opt not to enforce a ban by telling Apple, Google and TikTok’s other service providers that he will not punish them for keeping TikTok up and running, according to Sarah Bauerle Danzman , an associate professor of international studies at Indiana University Bloomington. But such a move may not keep the lights on at TikTok. “This could set up a legal battle, and the app stores likely do not feel comfortable being in violation of the law even if Trump says he won’t enforce it,” she said.
